November 2, 2019 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Immerse yourself in the timeless South Indian art form of Bharatanatyam and be transported by the rhythmic dance and captivating music that explores physical agility, emotional breadth and theatrical excellence.

The students of Bharatha Arangam Dance Institute, “Blooming Stars,” will perform at the Brook Arts Center on Saturday, Nov. 2 at 2:00 p.m. $10 tickets are available at www.brookarts.org.

This classical Indian dance school is lead by Premini Thanan, a dance teacher and choreographer who has performed at the United Nations (N.Y., U.S.), Kalakshetra (Chennai, India) and many other organizations around the world. She has been teaching in the New York-New Jersey area for over 20 years.

Bharatanatyam is one of the most popular classical and traditional dances of India, which has origins in Natya (dance) Yoga. It brings forth spiritual semblance through synchronized physical and emotive body movements. With a rich history dating back to 2000 years, the dace form is inspired by the sculptures of the ancient temples of Tamil Nadu, India.

Bharatha Arangam Dance Institute is now registering new and experienced students in New Jersey at their Warren, Edison/Metuchen and Millburn locations.
