March Into Art…an All Things Spring Exhibit

CALL FOR ENTRIES
Registration is Tuesday, March 3 (11 a.m.-6 p.m.), Wednesday, March 4 (11 a.m.-3 p.m.) and Thursday, March 5 (11 a.m.-3 p.m.). Artists may refer to wickfordart.org for submission guidelines and entry fees. Call for Entries registration is open to all artists (WAA members or non-members) and all media, except photography. The theme for the show is ALL THINGS SPRING.

EXHIBIT
The “March Into Art” Exhibit runs March 6 through March 29, 2020. Admission to the gallery is free and open to the public. The jurist who will select the artwork for exhibition is Mim Brooks Fawcett, Executive Director and Chief Curator at the Attleboro (MA) Arts Museum. Since 2006, Ms. Fawcett has focused her efforts on heightening the Attleboro Art Museum’s profile in the region, providing outstanding and diverse exhibitions and arts programs to promising and professional artists. She encourages visitors to explore the wonders and challenges of art through classes, gallery talks and workshops designed to stretch creative thinking.

OPENING
The “March Into Art” opening reception will be held Friday, March 6 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the WAA Gallery in North Kingstown, R.I. Ms. Fawcett, WAA Staff and Board of Directors will present awards with cash prizes at 7:00 p.m.

WHO is the WAA?
The Wickford Art Association is a non-profit organization with over 450 members from Rhode Island and New England. The association hosts art shows and classes in its North Kingstown gallery and has produced the Wickford Art Festival every July since 1962. WAA is dedicated to educating, encouraging and inspiring artists and art lovers throughout the community.
