From realism to abstract art, the idea of motion has been translated by artists for centuries. Using color and composition, artists shape a visual story of motion that renders a static scene into one of suspense, where the viewer is left feeling as though something is on the precipice of occurring. Motion Considered explores representations of movement, from freeze frame to the abstract, in two-dimensional works from the Morris Museum’s permanent collection. Museum Hours: Wednesday – Sunday 11:00AM to 5:00PM. Museum admission: Adults $12; children 3-17 $8; seniors $8; students under 25 with ID $8; children under 3 free.
