Our April installment of Odeum Classic Films features the classic “Casablanca.”
Academy Award winners Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman light up the screen in one of the most enduring romances in movie history, “Casablanca.” Rick Blaine (Bogart) owns a nightclub in Vichy-controlled Casablanca, frequented by refugees desperate to escape German domination. Despite the ever-present human misery, Rick manages to remain uninvolved in World War II now raging across Europe and Northern Africa. But all that changes when Ilsa Lund (Bergman) walks through the front door of Rick’s club. Rick must now choose between a life with the woman he loves and becoming the hero both she and the world needs.

Starting in 1926, The Greenwich Theater (now the Greenwich Odeum) screened thousands of films. With the Odeum Classic Films series, only the very best of these movies return to the big screen! Curated by Steven Feinberg, Executive Director the Rhode Island Film & TV Office, each month the series will feature at least one Odeum Classic Film (or double feature or marathon).
Relive the experience of seeing these classics on the big screen, with a theater full of other cinema-lovers. Steven Feinberg will often introduce the films and share a few words about what makes each a classic. The Odeum Classic Films series will contain well known classics as well as incredible films that rarely reach large screens – we hope to see you here!
Tickets to this event will also include an additional $2 Historic Restoration Fee which assists in repairs to the Greenwich Odeum. When purchasing tickets online, an additional $2 convenience fee will be applied per transaction. Tickets are non-refundable and non-exchangeable.
