Sheep and Shawls at Alden House Historic Site
August 11, 2018 EDT
Celebrate all things “woolly” at a Sheep and Shawl Day on Saturday, Aug. 11, at the Alden House Historic Site from noon-4 p.m.
Explore the process of turning wool into cloth and fiber arts with a demonstration of 18th century spinning, weaving, rug hooking, knitting and more.
Visit with lambs from the Soule Homestead Education Center in Middleborough. Try hands-on activities in spinning and weaving.
The textile demonstrations will feature eighteenth-century reenactor Penny Lacroix of Westford, an expert spinner and weaver who has a home studio and gives workshops and presentations around New England.
Tours of Alden House will also be offered.
