The National Lighthouse Museum in Staten Island, N.Y., will host BRILLIANT MINDS – INTERGENERATIONAL STEAM PROGRAM SERIES
With a focus on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math), and positive children’s mental health practices, the goal is to foster resilient, brilliant minds.
Geared for 3rd to 5th grades. All classes are from 9:30 to 11 a.m.
$10 per class for adult and child/ $75 for all 8 classes

* Early explorers’ quest to find shorter routes around the world
Saturday, April 17 – First Light
* Create a timeline of lighthouse evolution

Saturday, May 1 – Hazards of the Sea
* Fog, reefs, storm surge, rocky outcrops, hurricanes
Saturday, May 8 – Let there be more Light
* Augustin-Jean Fresnel development of a compact lens
Saturday, May 15 – Working Together
* Strategic placement of lighthouses along the Coast
Saturday, May 22 – Move that Light
