“The Starfish:” A Post-Screening Discussion with Tyler Gildin & Erin Kade Greenbaum
August 11, 2020 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
Free
In 1939, Herb Gildin, age 10, and his two older sisters, were sent by their parents to live in Sweden to escape Nazi persecution. As they waved goodbye, the parents feared they would never see their children again.
Watch Tyler Gildin’s award-winning documentary about his grandfather’s survival, the family’s reunion in New York and the work of HIAS that made it possible. Then join HMTC for a post-screening discussion with documentary filmmaker Tylder Gildin and Erin Kade Greenbaum, Senior Director at HIAS.
Please visit https://geni.us/TheStarfish for options to stream the documentary on your own and email programs@hmtcli.org for a link to register for the post-screening discussion.
