The State Ballet of Rhode Island & Artistic Director Herci Marsden Proudly Announce — Season 62

Our performing season opened this past weekend with the 16th Annual Flames of Hope: A Celebration of Life. Together, we celebrated with the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation as the “Light Returned to Providence.”

Our dancers performed 7 pieces (choreographed by our own Shana Marceau) and took audience members on a journey of Hope, Faith, Strength, Courage and Determination. The ending of this beautiful Illuminations of Life Ceremony was the 150 person torch procession.

Next, for the first time the State Ballet will present their holiday ballet Coppelia at the newly renovated, 750 capacity, McVinney Auditorium in Providence. With new sets, costuming and outstanding dancers, Coppelia, a RI tradition, heralds in the holiday season Thanksgiving weekend on Nov. 27 with two performances at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. This comical ballet will tickle you with laughter and entertain
you as it has entertained audiences for more than 150 years.

From all of us at The State Ballet of Rhode Island, we look forward to seeing you at one of our upcoming events and thank you for your continued support.
