The Wickford Art Association is pleased to announce this year’s artist line up on it’s new virtual artist directory for the much anticipated return of the annual Wickford Art Festival which is set to take place Saturday, July 10 and Sunday, July 11. After being cancelled for the first time in 57 years due to COVID-19, the festival is back this summer but in a new location at Wilson Park within Wickford Village and will host over 170 fine artists. The event is free and open to the public from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days. Parking will be available at Wilson Park, Wickford Middle School (suggested $10 donation), public parking in the lots on Brown Street and Gardner’s Wharf, plus permitted street parking within the village.
Artists slated to exhibit at this year’s festival will showcase fine art in a variety of mediums including: ceramics, wood, wearable and decorative fiber, furniture, fine jewelry, drawing, etching, glass, mixed media, painting (watercolors, oil, gouache, acrylic), photography, printmaking, pyrography and sculptures. The festival is also pleased to host three Wickford Art Association Scholarship recipients – Page Sullivan of Portsmouth High School, Ella Rose and Elizabeth Cowart of Cranston West High School.
The Wickford Art Festival is proud to partner with many local community organizations and businesses that will host activities and showcase their missions at the event. The North Kingstown Educational Foundation will have a craft station to create a piece of art that will be a part of their “Catch the Creative Wave” photomosaic project.
