On Sept. 10, Wickford Art Association (WAA) launches an exhibit that celebrates Rhode Island’s diverse, vibrant and resilient food economy through FoodWorks.
With assistance from edible Rhody editor Eugenie Trevor, food-industry partners were identified last winter who then welcomed a team of photographers from Wickford Art on-site. Through an application process, 16 photographers were selected by John Robson – www.johnrobson.photography – a freelance photographer from Colorado who often works with edible Communities. Each photographer captured dynamic photography at one or two sites across the region and will display a sampling of their work in the FoodWorks exhibit opening Friday, Sept. 10 at the WAA Gallery in North Kingstown. Robson will select works for cash prizes from the offerings and all work will be available for sale.
With additional coverage through edible Rhody all summer long on both their print and digital platforms: https://ediblerhody.ediblecommunities.com/shop/foodworks-celebrates-rhode-island-s-resilient-food-producers
Wickford Art will also launch a virtual gallery for full viewing access to the community and the full collection can be seen in-gallery Sept. 10 through Oct. 3 with hours of Wed-Sat (noon – 4 p.m.) and Sun (noon – 3 p.m.) More information is always available through WAA social media; find us @wickfordartassociation (Facebook), @wickfordart (Instagram & Twitter).
Parking is free along the green at Cold Spring, Beach Street for all visitors to Wickford Art Association.
Wickford Art will hold a special one-day FOOD & ART Market on Sunday, Sept. 19 (9 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.) on the Green at North Kingstown Town Beach with a wide variety of food vendors from across the state and art for viewing & sale in the WAA Garden. Rain-date is Sunday, Sept. 26.
