Great 8: Massachusetts Date Night Eats

Looking for a cozy spot for a romantic Valentine’s Day meal? Here are eight great restaurants for date night.

Boston and Brookline, Mass.

The menu here consists of 80 Spanish tapas selections. But the perfect dish for date night has to be the seafood paella for two loaded with shrimp, mussels and clams.

Bastille Kitchen

49 Melcher St., Boston

Diners come here for the modern Parisian fare. There are braises and stews, butter and cream … but with a lighter touch. For dessert, try the citrus napoleon with layers of puff pastry and lemon cream.

Worcester and Wellesley, Mass.

This sultry Spanish restaurant is perfect for date night. With the Bocado Experience you and your date can feast affordably on a selection of meats and cheeses, tapas, an entree or paella and dessert.

Cork Wine & Tapas

90 Front St., New Bedford, Mass.

Shareable plates like grilled flatbread pizzas, truffled french fries and piping hot Philly rolls stuffed with steak and served with onion rings and Sriracha aioli dominate the menu at this intimate spot.

The Elephant Walk

1415 Washington St., Boston, Mass.

Cambodian cuisine and French fare take center stage here. On the French side, Phantom recommends the filet mignon wrapped in bacon. For Cambodian, try the black tiger shrimp and vegetables.

1682 Massachusetts Ave., Cambridge, Mass.

The chef at Giulia makes all of the pasta in-house, like bucatini with house-cured pancetta and handcut pappardelle with wild boar and juniper berries.

439 Tremont St., Boston

The grilled chorizo, empanadas and tostones at Masa are pleasantly priced. For something more substantial, try the chile-rubbed filet mignon with onion rings and garlic whipped potatoes.

14 North St., Hingham, Mass.

Tosca’s menu is great for any kind of date, whether you want something casual like wood-fired pizza or more upscale fare from the steak and chops menu.
