A trip to anywhere Disney is most children’s dream.
But for kids like Steven De Angelis, 9, of Somerville, Mass., who face life-threatening medical conditions like Steven’s unique genetic disease, it might remain only a pipe dream.
Enter the Disney Wish Program, which works with nonprofit wish-granting organizations like the Make-A-Wish Foundation to make these children’s Disney dreams come true.
Last June, Steven’s wish to meet Mickey Mouse and Goofy was granted, making him one of more than 8,000 children who visit Disney World through its wish program each year.
“It was the most unbelievable trip,” said Kelly De Angelis, Steven’s mother. “At one point, my husband and I looked at each other because we didn’t remember the last time where everyone was smiling and laughing, and at that moment we all were.”
