AAA Employees Receive World-Class Training

TrainingTop100-Trophy

AAA Northeast is among the top organizations in the world for employee training programs, according to Training magazine. The trade publication placed AAA at No. 26 in its Top 100 Award list for 2021.

Training announced the ranking at a virtual ceremony on Feb. 8. AAA Northeast also earned a Best Practice Award and one of its trainers was named among the top five emerging leaders in the field.

The magazine rebranded its prestigious awards program from Top 125 to Top 100 in 2021. “This makes the extraordinary accomplishments of the 2021 Training Top 100 organizations even more noteworthy,” said Lorri Freifeld, Training magazine’s editor in chief.

“The Learning and Development team and Human Resources as a whole are thrilled to earn this award. Despite the pandemic, we kept pace with the learning needs of individual employees, departments and the club,” said Keri Borba, managing director of talent development at AAA Northeast.

Practice What You Teach

AAA trainers remained true to their mission throughout the pandemic. They became IT support for the thousands of employees suddenly working from home.

Working the IT help desk allowed trainers to stretch some of the skills they teach in classes.

The employee training team reacted quickly and proactively with virtual resources to help employees through the new challenges of the pandemic and beyond. They provided the timely training resources necessitated by the pandemic and followed through with additional enrichment opportunities that anticipated future needs.

The club ranked 68th on the Training Top 125 in 2019 and 29th in 2020. Rising in rank can be a motivating factor for trainers, but not the only one. Trainers take their cues from employees, too.

In 2021, they expanded online learning opportunities for instructor-led programs and self-paced modules.
