5 Thoughts on “11 Affordable Home Decor Ideas”
Thanks, Marie! Hope your 2020 is off to a great start. Thanks for reading!
These are all great ideas and we have employed several of them. But just so you know…painting cabinets is an expensive, labor intensive project and unless you are a really good painter leave this to the professionals. To look good and last you will need a primer and an oil-based paint. The doors should be removed and taken outdoors or in the garage to work on. It will take them a day or two to dry thoroughly before you can rehang them. Same with back-splashes — you really need to know what you are doing and prepare the wall properly. Also, it took us a long time to find the right color paint for our aged oak cabinets, the right backsplash and even the right pulls for cabinets and doors. These are neither quick nor inexpensive projects! Even an area rug can take time and patience finding the right one, and they are not inexpensive either. Hanging pictures and artwork requires muscle and patience finding the studs and centering them properly — once you’ve framed your pictures and selected the right artwork.
Nothing worthwhile is fast, easy or cheap.
