Four Seasons Hotel One Dalton Street, Boston, Earns AAA Five Diamond Designation

Although inspections were on hold for most of 2020 due to the pandemic, one new AAA Five Diamond hotel was added to the list this year: Four Seasons Hotel One Dalton Street, Boston

Like nearly all hotels, the property has launched enhanced health and safety protocols in response to COVID-19, and was also recognized with AAA’s Best of Housekeeping designation based on its last on-site inspection. It also received a Best of 2020 designation for its spectacular and expansive views of the city.

“Boston’s newest luxury hotel is steeped in a creative blend of arty inspirations and ultimate comforts,” wrote an inspector, who also noted the lobby’s plush seating and Boston-centric artwork and beautifully designed rooms outfitted with luxe furnishings and sumptuous bed linens.

Hotels and restaurants earn a AAA Diamond designation by going through rigorous inspections conducted by AAA’s team of professional inspectors, based on the latest industry trends and travelers’ expectations. Hotels and restaurants must meet AAA’s high standards of cleanliness, comfort and hospitality to be part of the esteemed AAA Diamond Program. They are then assigned a designation of Approved, Three Diamond, Four Diamond or Five Diamond.

In the upper echelon AAA Diamond hotels and restaurants, only 182 are Five Diamonds (119 hotels and 63 restaurants) and 2,354 are Four Diamonds (1,731 hotels and 623 restaurants). Out of 53,000 AAA Diamond designated hotels and restaurants across North America, only 0.3% have earned the coveted Five Diamond designation and 4.4% have achieved Four Diamond status.

Two new Four Diamond restaurants and 50 new Four Diamond hotels were also added in 2021. Four of those hotels are located in the AAA Northeast footprint:
