There are a multitude of ways to explore the world, but I’m still fond the good old-fashioned road trip. Years ago, I took a road trip with my family to Toronto. The ride was a great way to spend time together, and we made countless memories exploring a new city.
As we approach summer, we know many of you will be hitting the open road and taking off for your next adventure. We want you to have an enjoyable journey, so it’s important to take a few simple steps to ensure your safety.
Before you leave, check your car to be sure its general maintenance is up to date. Tires, wipers, coolant, oil level, belts, hoses and batteries should all be checked and tested before you go. It’s also a good idea to plan your trip in advance. You can use the AAA Auto Club app to plan your route and find gas prices along the way. Our AAA travel agents can also help with itineraries, hotels and even tickets to theme parks.
When you’re on the road, be sure to lock your car when you leave it and keep your valuables out of sight. And most importantly, wear your seat belt and make sure children are secure in their car seats.
