To New Beginnings and New Ways to Earn Your Trust

As we herald in the new year, we also begin a new chapter at AAA Northeast. After 37 years of dedicated service, Mark Shaw has retired as president and CEO. I am honored to have been selected as the club’s new president and CEO. One of the things I most look forward to is connecting with our members. Whether it be through this column, our social channels or in person at events in our branches, I look forward to hearing from you and learning about what AAA means to you and your families.

Many of you have been AAA members for decades. I have too. I remember my first AAA card like it was yesterday. My parents enrolled me as soon as I had my license in hand. Whether they did it for their own peace of mind or mine, I don’t know. But I put that card in my wallet and it’s been there ever since. When my wife and I put our three children out on the road, they too were given AAA cards. We’ve heard this same story from many of you, and we’re humbled knowing we’re part of a tradition that is carried down from generation to generation.

To me, AAA means trust. Having been a part of the AAA Northeast team for the past three years, I can say that every person at AAA is committed to serving our members and earning your trust. Whether you’re calling for Roadside Assistance, looking for advice on your next vacation or interested in our insurance products, our purpose and our promise is to be there when you need us.

The services and benefits we offer are also a part of our purpose and promise – from identity theft protection to auto loans, from homeowners insurance to battery and windshield replacement. Our advocacy efforts, particularly research from our AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety, save lives on our roadways. The basic premise to ensure safe transportation started with AAA over 100 years ago, and will continue for many years to come.

Our promise doesn’t end there. We will innovate, advocate and negotiate for you so you can continue to rely on and trust the products and services we provide. We will work to enhance the many ways we deliver our services to you. And we will work every day to earn the loyalty you continue to demonstrate.

I would be remiss if I didn’t thank my predecessor, Mark Shaw, and acknowledge his incredible contributions to the club over his remarkable career. He’s been a friend and mentor to me, and I will continue to seek his wise counsel in the months and years ahead.

On behalf of everyone on our team, I want to thank you for putting your trust in AAA Northeast. It’s an honor for me to serve in this new position and help carry out our mission of helping and serving as a way of life.
