Glass or plastic mixing bowls are better suited for mixing dough for sourdough breads. The sourdough starter doesn’t react well in metal bowls. Same with wooden and plastic mixing spoons instead of metal tools. Another need: Iron Dutch ovens with tight-fitting lids. They are indispensable for cooking and baking.
