Florence Griswold museum, Lyme, Ct. Wonderful museum, beautiful gardens and delicious luncheon cafe’ that is seasonal.
Your local library may have free passes or discounted tickets.
Our favorite is the Clark Art Museum in the Berkshires, MA. The grounds are beautiful. We always bring a picnic lunch. The museum is small enough to be able to see the entire place in a leisurely day.
Very helpful info – never knew about the one in nearby R I, (Mus of Work and Culture), plan to visit soon! Another New England museum which is a hidden gem and one of a kind, is the Slater Memorial Museum in Norwich, Ct.Along with amazing artifacts and paintings, is a stunning life-size exhibit of some of the greatest sculptures of our time. A visit to Slater is like touring and seeing the monuments of Europe without the plane trip!
