Every organization’s success hinges on the engagement, development and retention of its employees. Lucky for the marketing department, Stephanie Tomasso is on it, all of it.
Stephanie, an HR manager who works in tandem with the marketing department, has been in the business of human capital at AAA Northeast since April 2014, starting as an HR business partner for the Road Service Call Center. Today, she’s responsible for employee relations, engagement and retention, as well as workforce planning and career development, for the marketing department.
Prior to coming aboard, Stephanie was an HR department of one at a small home-care agency called All About Home Care, a great opportunity to become familiar with all aspects of human resources. While there, she earned her PHR (Professional in Human Resources) certification to add to her degree in Human Resource Administration from Rhode Island College.
We recently sat down with Stephanie to find out her favorite food, movies, fashion trend, cartoon character and why the dulcet tones of *NSYNC will always reverberate in her ears.
Q: Who is your all-time favorite band or musician?
A: Alright so I have a wide array of music interests that includes alternative, pop, house, etc. So I am going pick two!
I am a huge *NSYNC fan and not ashamed of it. They were the first concert I saw when I was in middle school. I had an entire wall of their pictures (teen bop anyone?!), an *NSYNC blanket, phone … the list goes on and on. I am still patiently awaiting a reunion tour.
My other choice would be from the house music world and that is Kaskade. Unless you are into EDM (Electronic Dance Music), you may not have heard of him, but he is an amazing DJ/Producer that is very important to me and my husband. One of his songs was our first wedding dance and we have seen countless of his shows.
Q: If you could hang-out with any cartoon character, who would it be and why?
A: Stewie from “Family Guy” because … Stewie.
Q: If you could bring back any fashion trend what would it be?
A: I love ’90s fashion, think Cher from “Clueless”! Some of it is coming back which is great, I’m here for it!
Q: What is your all-time favorite movie?
A: I love movies and television, like a little too much, so it is always so hard to answer this question. I love a good psychological thriller but if I have to be honest, “Titanic” will always hold a special place in my heart.
Q: What’s the best food you’ve ever eaten?
A: For those of you that don’t already know, I LOVE PASTA, so much so that it is my actual license plate. That being said, I have tried my fair share of pasta dishes through the years and the most delicious one is at Bacaro in Providence. It is called Pasta Con I Funghi and it is homemade pasta with mushroom, truffle, parmesan, and a soft boiled egg on top. You mix it all together to create the best tasting thing ever!!!
